Today's Throw Back Thursday post is long overdue.
I've been in dance for 27 years which means I've been dancing since I was three. I started teaching dance my Junior year of high school and I loved it. Last May was my last dance review and to be honest I miss it. I always had a passion for dance. A passion like that doesn't just disappear and you can't just forget about it. It's always there but I had done my best to push it aside... Until I went to Kira's dance recital. I learned then that I'll always have a passion for dance. It's both good and bad because I loved watching the dances but I also critiqued them more than the average person. I learned I miss dancing and though I'm so busy with my job and Photography that I couldn't give it enough attention I'll always miss it and dance will always have a special place in my heart.
A previous post I wrote regarding my Passion for Dance Reads:
A have a serious passion for photography. I've been a photographer literally since I could hold a camera. I was the one who took so many pictures as a child my mom was most likely excited about digital cameras because she wouldn't have to print every picture. I love the essence of photography and being able to capture a moment in time. I love sharing that passion with others. It makes me so happy and excited when I get to upload photos from a session and browse through them to pick my favorites. (I usually upload photos RIGHT after a session because I'm that excited about it).
But, photography hasn't been my only passion. That's where DANCE comes in. I've been a dancer since I was three years old (That's 27 years... yup, I'm the big 3-0). I have been dancing, teaching dance, choreographing routines, and living dance for many, many years. I've had this vision of capturing dance movement in time and seeing the extensions, leaps, jumps, toe shoes, and flexibility from a dancer in front of my lens ever since I got my DSLR. I would take my camera to all our competitions and get group shots and individuals all the time, but that never really filled this vision I've had. This year I'm not teaching dance and I truly miss it, so much so that it was time make that vision come to life.
These pictures are of my last Dance Review.
