Throw Back Thursday | Perfect Colors and Set up

4:39 PM Posted by Stacey 1 comment
Sometimes Sessions just work out perfectly. Like the Poulsen family. Some of their pictures are my ALL TIME favorites. They had awesome colors, great lighting, they are amazing people and it all came together to make their family session last fall one to mark up in the books.

Throw Back Thursday | Missing my Grandpa

9:00 AM Posted by Stacey , No comments
Today's Throw Back Thursday is a Personal one. I attended a funeral on Saturday (Pictures from that are on my personal blog, you can check them out here.) It reminded me of my grandpa's funeral and how much I really miss him. He was such an awesome grandpa and we shared the love of Chocolate Covered Raisins :)

Have you heard of Relay for Life? If not, I URGE you to come to the Cache Valley Relay for Life Event this weekend!

Friday July 11 at 2 pm until Saturday July 12 at 2 PM. IT'S FREE! There are LOTS of things going on and fun things for the entire family. Check it out at the Heritage Park in Nibley, Utah.

You'll have an AMAZING experience and you'll see how many people have been touched by cancer in some way or another. Our family has been involved with Relay for Life for 6 years. Here are pictures from some previous years.

Celebrating our Freedom | Throw Back Thursday

Tomorrow is July 4th. As a proud American I will be celebrating my Freedom this Independence Day. I'm thankful for the Declaration of Independence signed on July 4, 1776 which gives us our Freedom.

What does it mean to you to be free? For all those that post on my Facebook wall at www.facebook.com/photographybystaceymoss you'll get 10 Referral points. Tell me what your favorite thing is about July 4, or what it means to you to be free, post a picture or whatever you want!

I was in Costa Rica a few years ago over the 4th of July. The small town we were in was a Tourist Location and had a lot of American's in the area. We were at dinner on the 4th and thought we'd have to celebrate when we got home but we actually saw Fireworks and a Celebration for the 4th of July. It was nice and I was proud to be an American that night.

This was 6 years ago. My little Max was just months old. His first experience with Fireworks... he was a little scared to say the least.

Throw Back Thursday, Ragnar Relay

11:28 AM Posted by Stacey , , No comments
Remember that post I just did last week on one of the hardest things I've done in my life - Hiking to Havasupi? Well this Throw back Thursday post is on the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay. This weekend is also the current Wasatch Back Ragnar so if you are running, best of luck and hydrate up!

I am proud to say I ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay for 3 years in a row. It wasn't easy and I'm NOT a runner.. but I had a lot of fun. "You want me to pay to run and run for fun? Huh?"

Running has never been in my forte. I am short, have short legs and have never enjoyed running for recreation or running because I was told to. It's just not a hobby of mine. How I got roped into doing Ragnar, let alone 3 times, is beyond me. I ran in 2010, 2011 and 2012 with my work team. Our name was "If we weren't all crazy we would go insane" which is from a Jimmy Buffet song. Don't get me wrong, I had FUN, and I'm super glad I did it but it took a lot out of me.

I remember my first Ragnar Relay. The last 4.2 mile leg was seriously the hardest time of my life to that point. It was about 80 degrees outside, I was sunburned, had already ran 8 miles, I was dehydrated, my muscles were starting to cramp up and I was working on a about 2 hours a sleep. How I made it again is unknown, but I did. And it FELT GREAT! That feeling is what got me through the next two years.

So if you haven't ran, I challenge you to consider it! It's a worthy event and will challenge you personally.
