New Stacey Hansen Photography Associate

We at Stacey Hansen Photography are so excited to introduce a new member to our team! We've hired Jessica (or Jess as we call her) to be our Blogger and Social Media Associate. We can't wait to have her take over blogging and keeping all our clients updated on our social media! You'll still near from me, Stacey, but Jess will be doing the bulk of it! Welcome to the team Jessica, we are so excited for this new journey with you at Stacey Hansen Photography. 

I met Jessica about 2 years ago when she and her then fiance hired me as their wedding photographer! We took their engagements in the Fall and their Wedding right after Christmas. It was a cold but beautiful day and they were happy, in love and enjoying the entire day. They were the best sports about the cold and their families were both so nice. I love working with clients when I feel right at home. I loved getting to know Braxton and Jessica and I am so excited to be capturing memories of their little boy now!

Here's a little about what Jessica has to say to introduce herself.  

I grew up in small town Rigby, Idaho making my life now in Logan feel like living in LA… And I love it! Two years ago my husband and I were married, and we now have the sweetest little boy. I’ve taken some time off from pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education at Utah State, to stay home with my little guy. I love to travel, dance, and be outdoors. But most of all I love spending time with family! I’m excited to add further value to this photography business as I share the stories behind all of these amazing photos and families.

From the Photographer: Growing up in Cache Valley was awesome, and I'm still here so I guess that means I love it! I'm happily married to my best friend and love his little girl, Kira. Photography has always been a passion of mine and I continue to love every chance I get to preserve memories through my lens.

From the Blogger: I am a small town girl now living in Logan and loving it. I have an amazing husband and the sweetest little boy. I love to travel, dance and be outdoors but most of all I love spending time with my Family!

The Tuesday Ten | Recap of 2015

Recap of 2015!

Wow, I can't believe 2015 is over. It came and went so quickly and all the while we were CRAZY busy! It was a full year of excitement for us both personally and business wise. Here's our recap of the year and all the highlights we want to remember. 

1. We got married! We were married Sept 12, 2015 in Fish Haven, ID. It was a beautiful day, gorgeous venue and pretty much the coolest wedding/reception ever. :) Check out photos on our blog post: http://photographybystaceymoss.blogspot.com/2015/09/the-tuesday-ten-our-wedding.html

2. We changed our Business name! We are no longer Photography by Stacey Moss... instead a new logo, new look and new name! Welcome to Stacey Hansen Photography. We were SUPER hesitant to change our business name. We've heard many stories of photographers changing their names and then losing business because people couldn't find them or this or that. BUT we've had a RECORD year even with the change! So, I think it was a good call, plus I love our logo! (Thanks to Pace Made for the design!)

3. Newborns! We did a record number of Newborns this year! Newborns are secretly our favorite :) SHH don't tell! JK, but we really do love seeing babies just days old and all their cuteness. I often get asked how I have the patience for newborns because they really do take a lot of time. Honestly, I don't know, but I love it. If you know me personally you know my patience is often low lol so how I manage to work with so many newborns and love every minute of it is a mystery.. but it's one of my favorite sessions to do. That's why when I said I was taking 2 weeks off for the holidays I ended up only having 4 days off because I fit 3 newborns in last minute! I'm a sucker for those chubby cheeks. **Watch for our Newborn Contest for 2015 babies and see who wins a FREE 1 Year Cake Smash!**

4. Weddings! We also hit a record number of weddings this year! It amazes me that I could be busier than last year and yet I totally was, nearly all year long. We met so many wonderful couples for their engagements, bridals/formals and wedding day this year. Each one holds a special place in our hearts and we often become great friends with our brides. It's fun to watch as their love and family grows after their wedding. And this year we joined in the wedding stress so I knew just how my brides were feeling while planning their weddings. Thanks again to all of our brides and grooms in 2015 for making this a year to remember. 

5. Photo Booth! The year the Time Capsule Photo Booth came to life! Oh and we have loved this! We did 5 Christmas Parties, a fundraiser, 2 shows, a Preschool graduation, and about a dozen weddings all in our first 7 months. I'd say that's a win-win! We can't wait to see what happens next year and we have already hired 2 employees to help us run the photo booth since we are always busy! The photo booth was the best idea Andy had, among some amazing others for this business!  Watch for us at the Bridal Fair in January at the Logan Riverwoods Conference Center!

6. Our Tuesday Ten blog posts sort of fell off the radar as I got busier planning our wedding and then this fall being swamped. It is amazing how much time it takes to spend writing blog posts! So I'm curious... did you like the Tuesday Ten blog posts (if I do them lol)? I am thinking of giving discounts, free sessions, or paying for blog posts if people are actually reading them. What do you think? 

7. Dance / Sports pictures were added to our portraiture options this year. I have danced since I was 3 years old until about 4 years ago so I was thrilled with Kylie at Rhythm Connection asked me to take their Dance pictures! 

8. Themed Minis. This was the first year for our Themed Mini Package and we killed it. 5 sessions a year for $100 was ridiculous pricing but we loved it! Seeing kids for Valentines, Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas was a blast!  Next year is a bit different, check it out here. 

9. Office Help / Blogging - We also hired two part time assistants to help with office work and blogging this year. It's been awesome not having to worry about blogging this month as those two have done nearly all of my blogging. Working a full time job, running a photography business, running a photo booth business, trying to be a good wife and mom is not an easy job. I've learned this year I need to step way back! Which is what I said last year but then that didn't happen. So, I'm working toward more help, spreading my work load, and actually spending more time at home this year (and not at home in my studio :) ).  Meet my Office Assistants... Shayna and Stephanie. They rock because they are 1. My sisters but 2. Because they support my business so much and send me clients all the time and 3. Because they learn fast and get the job done! Thanks ladies.

10. My Hubby - Last of all, I have to remember who helped me start this journey down the Photography industry and that's this handsome man. He's been my #1 supporter since before I actually bought a camera. He helps me with my studio (and his system rocks), he's built my Show Booth, the photo booth, he second shoots for me when I need him, and he takes up a lot of my slack at home while I'm working. Kira is a pretty darn good supporter too. She loves to help with kids are around and even though I have to tell her to go play sometimes she really is a big help. She doesn't love being in the studio when it's her turn but she often obliges. She is getting so big, is a gorgeous 6 year old and sure has a cute personality. I'm so privileged to call these two my family. I can't think of anyone I'd rather have in my home and in my heart than this duo.

The Tuesday Ten | PSM Update!

Today's Tuesday Ten is a fun one! Some changes are going to be happening at Photography by Stacey Moss this year so we just want to let everyone know about them!

1. It's going to be a crazy busy year! We have 10 weddings already on our calendar for clients from now until August. We've done 11 newborn sessions in the first 2-1/2 months of the year! We also have 6 more on the calendar! We hope that trend continuous and we keep getting busy. However, that means last minute appointment schedules get harder and harder to fit in as we leave time for newborns open. Call us now if you want to get on our calendar!

2. I am Engaged! It's true and I'm stoked about it! We are planning a wedding for September 12th this year.

4. September is going to be Busy! I'm taking a full 2 weeks off of photography to catch up with editing before the wedding and then a week off after the wedding for a honeymoon. That means if you want Family Pictures during September I'd get thinking about it and book now! I'll be Off from September 5- Sept 20 and possibly more days as it gets closer and I see how much I have to do. 

5. Summer Schedule. This is also going to impact my summer schedule as I try to plan a wedding. I'm going to try to take as many sessions and clients as I can but as I get more booked I may be maxing out the schedule and turning clients/sessions down. I hope it doesn't come to that but keep that in mind and book early if you are wanting pictures this summer. 

6. Wedding ideas. I know, your prob thinking why does she need wedding ideas! It's true, I've been to a lot of weddings over the last few years as a Photographer so I've seen some amazing details and vendors. However, I never thought to write them all down and now I need that info! If you have some amazing vendors you've worked with or have some cool ideas, or just things you wish you would have done or done differently I'd love to hear them! Email me at StaceyMoss@live.com 

7. Bear Lake Vendors. We are getting married in Bear Lake and I need some awesome vendors that are in that area or don't charge a lot to deliver to that area! If you recommend a vendor that I use I'll give you a deal on a photography session in the next year! Email me at StaceyMoss@live.com 

8. Photography by Stacey Moss.... well as I get married that means my name is going to be changing. 

I've debated greatly on what to do with my Photography business and it's name. Andy said just leave it but I'm not sure I want to. However, I've heard changing the name of your business can mean major client loss. I'm torn. I'd love to convert to Photography by Stacey BUT that domain name isn't available. SO - Clients and Friends. Let's take a poll. Do you have any business names I could use? What do you think?  Email me or post on my Facebook / Instagram. If you give me an idea of a new business name and I use it you'll get $200 in credit to use for photography sessions! 

9. Photo Booth. Another new change you'll be hearing about is The Time Capsule Photo Booth. Check out our new website... it's still in the works and I'll write more on it once it's up and running 100% smoothly!

10.  Happy Spring! I just love this time of year. The snow melts and the trees, grass and flowers start to grow. It just reminds me what a fresh start everything gets. I'm so happy to get a start to a new chapter in my life with these two amazing people.

The Tuesday Ten | Recap of 2014

Today's Tueday 10 Post is a quick recap of 2014 and some of the changes or improvements we've made to our Photography Business. As the new year approaches so do more changes so we wanted to reflect on what accomplishments and progress we've made as a business. 

1. New Website! We actually had a new website last year too but in 2014 we officially purchased our domain name of Photographybystaceymoss.com

2. Search Engine Optimization - We are SUPER excited that more clients can find our blog and website! We've worked hard to create a blog and website that will help users find us and pick us out of the many cache valley photographers. A few months ago I cleared my search history, cache, etc and looked for a "Cache Valley Family Photographer" and we were #3! Super exciting. 

3. Prices Increased and Packages were created. 

4. We started accepting online payments through our Square account

5. MAJOR improvements were made in the Studio and we love it. I can't thank Andy Hansen enough for all his ideas and hard work to help create a studio that supports my space, backdrops and workflow. 

6. We now have custom CD cases as well as jump drives. 

7. We did our First Print Ad in the Wedding So Easy Magazine. 

8. Preschool Pictures were added to our options

8. First Expo/ Show at the Logan Holiday Gift Show

9. We did a record number of newborns this year!

10. Another record of weddings this year!
