The Tuesday Ten | Our Engagement Photos!

Yes, it's nearly that time of year. The day is almost here when we say "I do". Our wedding is not going to be the typical Utah Wedding. We haven't done a lot of planning in some areas and in others we've gone above and beyond what we could. I had to share our "save the date card" one more time, I just love it. It fits us to a T.

Ok, now onto the GOOD stuff!

1. We hired Mike from Endless Photography to shoot our Engagements and Wedding. We loved working with him on our engagement photos and had a blast. We decided to do something a little bit different than most engagement sessions. Our original idea of going to Moab with the jeep didn't quite work out because of schedules, but we made the most of Cache Valley's nature and beautiful scenery and took the jeep off roading.

2.  Andy and I headed up Providence Canyon the week before we were scheduled for photos so we could get some ideas of what areas there were that most people can't just drive to. We wanted something unique, hard to get too and some how to involve the jeep. We found quite a few fun spots but 3 in particular that we loved! We talked to Mike and set the shoot up for a Saturday evening. We were hoping it would only be a few hours but it ended up being about 3-1/2. At least it was a fun adventure and Mike was so willing to work with us and make our session exactly what we wanted!

3. The Waterfall. One of the specific spots Andy loved was the waterfall at the Quarry in Providence Canyon. I only had 1 photo request at this spot and Mike got it exactly right! It's hanging up in my living room on a 20"x 30" canvas. :) To get to the waterfall it was about a 5-10 minute walk, not bad. It was quite cool up next to the water, but boy it's beautiful.

4. Next on our list was a field with wild flowers. Once you get to the top of Providence Canyon and Millville Canyons there are many cool spots for wild flowers and fields. Andy and I had found the perfect one. It was really windy in the field the day of the engagements, so it made things interesting. Kira was being a little stinker, much like she is every time we do pictures, and she just laughs really good instead of smiling. We might have to bribe her or work on that for this weekends wedding!

5. The Jeep. We wanted a photo with the jeep and the valley or some neat mountain view in the background. We found two awesome spots with amazing views. One was easy to get to and looked beautiful. The other was harder to get to but an even better view! So we opted for the harder to get to one, of course. Mike was literally on the edge of the mountain cliff taking photos of us to get these shots. Pretty amazing right?

6. The Cliff. Like I said, Mike was on the edge of the cliff for some of the jeep photos. Andy and I then went and sat on the edge and dangled our feet off. The photo doesn't show how high we are but a ways below us is left hand fork. It was a beautiful view. The cliff we are sitting on is much like the cliff in the background of the photo.

7. The Ring. We can't forget my awesome engagement/wedding ring. I'm not sure what to call it because I'm not getting a band. Anyways, Andy spent a lot of time designing this ring himself and I am in LOVE with it!

8.  Our Wedding Announcements were designed by Kara's Koncepts. She did an amazing job using the photos Mike took and our ideas to create an EPIC announcement! We choose a 4x9 folding announcement. Here's what the outside looks like.

10. Printed Envelopes! One of the smartest things we did was have Kara print our envelopes for us! I loved them and it made it super easy and quick to get them out as soon as we received them. Kara had them printed the same day she received them and we had them the next day. It was perfect and helped me a ton! Plus they look super fancy and official, bonus!

I can't wait to marry this man this week! We've already moved our Business name over to Stacey Hansen Photography if you haven't noticed already! We'll be out on a honeymoon but we'll be back in full swing near the end of September!

The Tuesday Ten, Getting to Know Me | Logan Utah Photographer

Alright blog readers. My name is Stacey Moss and I'm a photographer. Hopefully, if you are reading this blog you already knew that. But there's a lot more to me than just being a photographer. Today's Tuesday Ten post is ten facts about me.

1. I love my family. My family has been one of my life lines for a very long time. My three sisters are amazing and I look up to each one of them in their own way. I remember growing up my younger sister would tell me she hated me, but now we are best friends. I'm not sure where I would be without my parents. They have done so much for me and helped me in so many ways throughout life. I'm eternally grateful for their support and unconditional love.

2. I love flowers. Spring and Summer are seriously awesome because of the weather and the flowers. I LOVE having beautiful flowers in my yard and hanging on my deck/patio. I actually don't mind weeding and keeping the flowers in good condition, something I think I learned my from mom and grandma.

3. I'm NOT a reader but I love me a good book. Ok, so I'm really not a fast reader. Like at all. In fact, in school I hated to read. I can't think of a good book that I read until college. Now, I love reading a good series or book and have many favorites. I love picking up an actual book and keeping them on my bookshelf. I'm not sure I'll ever love the concept of Books on tape (though they do make life easier). Sometimes I just need to pick up a good book but then then I have a hard time putting it down. I can spend hours reading if I get into a book and I love the relaxation that comes with it.

4. I love to TRAVEL! Traveling is oh so rewarding. I love being able to see new places, explore new things, try out new food or activities. I am fortunate enough to travel a lot these days and my urge to get away just grows stronger the more we are at home. My ultimate Photography dream would be to go on a trip for a photo shoot!

5. I love growing a garden! My favorites to grow are peppers. This year I already have two peppers that are a pretty decent size considering it's still May. We also have 3 kinds of tomatoes growing, jalapeno peppers, red peppers and crook neck squash. We are still working on a space in our yard for a garden so they are all in pots. Last year they all did really well. This year is the first time I'm trying the Squash so I'm hoping it works out ok in a pot!

6. I HATE Chocolate. I know your thinking "this girl is crazy". I get that a lot. I just am not a fan of chocolate. Every once and a while I'll have something with chocolate in it but not very often. If I had to choose my favorites it'd be brownies, snickers, twix. I really don't like Chocolate cake, pudding, or all chocolate candy bars.

7. I work full time 8-5 Monday through Friday. I've been at my job for 10 years now... (See my 10 year anniversary post here).

8. I love jewelry. I usually am only an earrings fan but I also like necklaces on occasion. I also collect Perfume bottles. This is one of my weird hobbies from being a teenager. I like to use the perfume until the bottom is nearly gone and then I'll put it in my "collection" so I will always have the scent of that perfume. I also never buy a perfume more than once.

 9. Speaking of things I collect, here is another one. Shot Glasses. Now when I started this collection I was in middle school so obviously I wasn't using the shot glasses. We started to travel here and there for dance and with my family and I wanted to get something from each place we went. I didn't like spoons or pins so shot glasses it was. My collection has since grown so big that I have had to split it into two - one at my house and one at the office. I keep my favorites at the house except for all those that people from work bring me. I try to keep those at my office. It's a great conversation starter when people come to visit and it makes my office feel more like home. Family, Friends and co-workers have all pitched in and got me shot glasses. My goal is to own one from every state and "a lot" of countries. I'm close on the states. I used to have a spreadsheet of what states and countries I owned but I haven't updated that in a long time so I'm not sure where my collection stands. I guess I'll have to look into it. I currently have shot glasses from Malaysia, China, Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Austria, Italy. Amsterdam, Munchen, Deutschland (Those are all three in Germany) , Singapore, Perth Australia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Kuwait, Canada, Bolivia, Hong Kong, and about 35 states... and that is NOT ALL!

10. The last thing about me you should know. I'm not sure I could function without my phone...As far as my business goes it has my life on there. Email, texts, all my contacts and my SCHEDULE. My business thrives because of word of mouth and social media. Without those two things I'm not sure I'd have much of a photography business these days. That's why having a smart phone comes in so handy. Instagram and Facebook have helped me get my business out there, not to mention having quick access to contacting my clients. My phone is one of my greatest business tools, along with my camera and my computer.
