The Tuesday Ten | Happy Halloween!

Today's Tuesday Ten is all about our Halloween Mini sessions. This year we tried something new and purchased a Halloween backdrop. We had a love / hate relationship with it. It's not the color I was expecting but it made things SUPER easy. Most everyone that came worked with it and I appreciate everyone's support during our Halloween Mini's. We flew by session after session during our mini marathon and it worked so well! Here's all the kids we got to capture!

1. Kira and Robin. I get to start with these two because I'm partial to this little lady. She and her brother came in for their mini a few days before the marathon and they rocked it. Their Easter session was a little harder so when Robin was super happy for these I was thrilled. She is Maleficent and he is the Crow. Kira's mom made Robin's costume and I thin kit turned out GREAT!

2. Collin and Oakley. These are two of my favorites! They are my niece and nephew so I guess I'm partial to them too. We didn't get to capture much of Oakley because she was grumpy this day but we got a few of this sibling duo. Collin loves superheros so it was fitting that he was Spiderman this year.

3. Payzlee and Knox. Oh I love these kiddos! They rocked their session and Miss P was SOO excited to get her photos taken! She wanted more and more and more. I loved it though. Miss Doc McStuffins and a dino!

 4. These three sisters are some of my favorites to photograph! I have been capturing photos of them for a couple of years. I can't believe how big they are getting and how much their personality starts to show once they are familiar with me!

5. Miss Mickey Mouse Addi is another favorite of mine! This is her second year on our Themed Mini package and she has rocked it this year! She came out of her shell this past summer / spring and I love seeing her cute smile every time!

6.  Lily is the best and cutest horse ever! She wasn't too excited for pictures but she didn't cry and was so good to stand there. Just no giggles or smiles this time around. We'll catch them at Christmas, I hope! She's still darling though.

7.  This little Gem is just over 3 months old, maybe 4! She smiled and giggled so good for most of her session. She's a little cup cake and I just adore her onsie that says "I'm so cute it's Scary". Ha Love it!

8.  Cute little cousins came to the studio together for their Halloween Mini. They all did SO well and little Jace was the cutest dragon.

9.  Last but not least was this crew. Their make up was totally on point. It was amazing. Mom has some awesome friends that helped with out with their make up and I was totally digging it. Some serious talent there!

 10. Happy Halloween of course! Thanks to all of our Halloween Mini Sessions. We loved capturing your cute kids in their costumes. Next year it more "FALL" themed! Stay Tuned!

The Tuesday Ten | Halloween/Fall Destination for Families

The Tuesday Ten

Before the weather gets to cold get out and enjoy some time with your family! October is filled with great activities for the whole family, and you don’t have to go that far to reach any of them. For today’s Tuesday Ten we will be showcasing 10 Halloween destinations for families in Northern Utah. Enjoy!

1.     The American West Heritage Center is a great place to get your family out together during this Halloween season. Here you can enjoy a corn maze, pumpkin patch, bounce house, straw mountain, rodeo, hay bale bowling, BB guy range, pony rides, spooky train rides, Haunted Hollow and much more! They are open until the 29th, including Fall Festival on Oct. 21-22. Head over to AWHC for some great old-fashioned fun!

2.     Little Bear Bottoms, located in Wellsville, is a family farm that transforms into a fun family destination fall each year. There are corn mazes, hay fort, spooky barn ride, pumpkin patch, scarecrow walk, and haunted river trail. And can I just say the corn maze is a TON of fun! It is their goal to offer a variety of activities associated with fall and Halloween to make Little Bear Bottoms fun for people of all ages.

3.     Black Island Farms is Utah’s largest corn maze! Located down in Davis county, this 300-acre vegetable farm turns into quite the family attraction in the fall. Visit their corn maze, hayride, nightmare acres, the haunted barn, animal alley, bonfire, pumpkin patch, pig races, grain shoot slide, and much much more! They even have farm-fresh goodies so go hungry!

4.     Lagoon’s Frightmares puts a fun Halloween twist on Utah’s favorite amusement park. You get to enjoy all of your favorite rides, plus a variety of spooky walk-through experiences. Enjoy the spook-a boo walk-thru, the very scary Nightwalk, or several in between. Frightmares is open on the Weekends through the 30th

5.     If you are looking for a free activity for the family to enjoy then Pack Farms is the place to go! Pack farms has been helping families find their Halloween pumpkins since 1958. Their hay maze is free, and a small fee may be paid to have access to a huge PVC slide, pumpkin tetherball, giant board games, and a tractor play ground. Let Pack Farms help you find your pumpkins this year!

6.  Tri City Nursery is Kaysville's Halloween destination, that antes up the interest of the typical straw maze with their mystery clue hunt maze. Look for hidden rooms, clues, and the maze mascot, Skully! There are activities for all ages, including pedal-cart racing, slides, and even more family fun activities.

7.     Gardner Village has a multitude of witchy activities for the whole family to enjoy. Witchfest is a beloved tradition for many Utah families. You can enjoy breakfast with a witch, witch displays, scavenger hunts, Witchapalooza, a wee witches weekend, or a witches(girls) night out. The wee weekend is now offering pony rides, face painting, a costume parade (so come dressed up!), storytelling, food, and much more for your little kiddos. Come, bring your entire family, and have a witchy ole’ time!

8.      Pumpkin Point Farms has always had the goal to provide good family fun for an affordable price. Eleven acres of pumpkins are priced by size going as low as 10 for $1! The small corn maze and hayrides are free with any pumpkin purchase. And let’s not forget their historic tractor collection! Head out to Pumpkin Point Farms for some great pictures and a night the whole family will enjoy.

9.     Pumpkin Days at Wheeler Farm is literally for the WHOLE family, because you now have the opportunity to bring your dog out to Bark-tober Fest! This location is a good family destination year-round, but this time of year is especially fun. In addition to their usual animal attractions, you can now enjoy wagon rides, pumpkin patch, and a hay maze. You can even vote for your favorite scarecrow at the festival of scarecrows. Bring your doggie out for a costume parade, and just enjoy a day with the ENTIRE family, furry and not!

10. Cornbelly’s was voted one of the top 10 cornmazes in America by USA today! It is one of the biggest fall destinations in Utah, with too many activities to possibly list here. They are always having special events, so check out their website if you want to find the perfect one for your family! There are fun activities during the day, and if you choose to stick around the night fills with fright. Head over to Cornbelly’s if you want an activity the family will never forget.

With so many great locations to spend this fall with the family I had a hard time choosing just 10! I hope that this year you will take some time to get out and enjoy this fun season with your entire family. This is a beautiful time of year to take pictures, so go make some memories that will last forever, and let us capture the fun!

The Tuesday Ten | Magnetic-Art

Thank you for inviting us to do the Tuesday Ten! Let’s just jump right into this!

1. Introduction
My name is Haley and I live in Hyrum, UT with my husband and two kids. Almost five years ago I decided to make some magnets for my classroom (I taught 6th grade) because I wanted some magnets that were strong. I made several different kinds and decided to make an etsy account and try to sell a few. The next step was farmers market and that’s when my husband jumped on board. He thought I was crazy and kind of mad that I was spending so much money on supplies, but then he saw I was making money and was happy to help expand and improve the business. He’s the reason that this business has grown in to what it is.

2. What is Magnetic-Art?
All of our products are magnetic and include refrigerator magnets, magnetic jewelry, and magnetic games.

3. Designer Magnets
This was our very first product. It started as glass bubble magnets, then we did bottle cap magnets, and now we make our magnets with button materials (like pin back buttons).

4. Tic-Tac-Toe
This was our second product. We love these games because it is small in size (4.25in x 4.25in) to easily fit in a purse or bag, the pieces are all magnetic so they don’t get lost as easily and stay in place while playing, and the convenient tin holds all the playing pieces when not in use! Most of our customers say they love bringing it to church for their kids to play with and it’s also great to keep in the car for road trips.

5. Magnetic Necklace
This is our best seller. We have hundreds of necklace images and they all have a magnet on the back to go in the necklace pendant. It is so many necklaces in one! These necklaces are perfect for teens and adults! The necklace images fit snug in the pendant so they won’t fall out. We have four different pendants—two silver and two bronze options.

6. Magnetic Bracelet
This is our newest product! All of our jewelry images fit interchangeably with both the bracelet and necklace. We offer two sizes of bracelet chains: 6 inch and 5 inch. They are so stylish and with so many image options, they can match any outfit!

7. Magnetic Keychain
Once again, these are the same size as our necklace and bracelet pendants so all of the images are interchangeable with the keychain as well.

8. License Plate Game
Allen and I are always trying to come up with new products. Since we already have the tins we use for the tic-tac-toe games, we decided to use it for another game as well. When we go on road trips, we love keeping track of all the different state license plates we see, and came up with a way to make it into a game! The check marks are magnetic and you can check off each state as you see it! This is a great way to keep kids distracted in the car on long road trips or even just as you drive around town. We recently had these games on jane.com and sold out by 1 pm on the first day of the sale!

9. Where do we sell?
We started selling on etsy. Because etsy is quite saturated with stores, it was difficult for us to get many sales on there. We have done farmers market every summer since we started and have been very successful there. We do lots of craft shows in Cache Valley, Farmington, and Sandy; we started selling on Very Jane this month, and we have a website www.magnetic-art.com. We are hoping over the next year to increase our online sales so that we don’t have to do quite as many craft shows.
