The Tuesday Ten

Can you believe today is Nov 10? That means Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks and Christmas is in 6 weeks {47 days roughly}! Oh my goodness! It's going by so quickly I can't even comprehend how fast the Holidays are going to arrive... and quite frankly I am SOO not ready for the holidays yet. How about you? If you are like me these days you have all good intentions of scheduling things and getting your shopping done early and then it comes right down to it and you just can't get it done! Yup, with my crazy busy life I just have most things done last minute. BUT I'm bound and determined to make a difference this year, at least in my own life. This means I am taking a full 2 weeks off for the holidays. I've never done this before but I am OH SO Excited to do this! So today's Tuesday Ten is explaining my updated schedule for the Holidays this year!

1. 2 Weeks Off - I'm taking from Dec 17 through Jan 2nd OFF. It's slightly over 2 weeks but it's close. It will be a MUCH needed break from the craziness of holiday photo shoots and work.
However, If you have already scheduled a session during that time I'm still holding my schedule... I'm just not taking on any additional sessions. This includes a wedding and at least 3 family sessions already booked. SO I'm not really taking 2 weeks off I'm just blocking off my time to myself, family and the holidays from any further inquiries.

2. Time Change - You should have noticed this past week or so that it now gets dark around 5:15 or 5:30. That really limits when I am able to do outdoor photo sessions because I also work full time from Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. This means that outdoor sessions are only able to be scheduled on the weekends. Period. This also means that indoor sessions are reserved for weeknights. That allows me to fit the most sessions in the next 4 weeks that I can.

3. Holiday Minis - Christmas / Holiday minis are $45 this year. This includes a 20 minute session, 20+ photos in an online gallery with print release. To get this price sessions MUST be Christmas or Holiday themed. Standard family pictures DO NOT qualify for that price.

4. Holiday Mini's Indoor Special -  Indoor Holiday /Christmas sessions booked and scheduled to take place BEFORE Nov 30 get a discount! So... if you are looking for some fun indoor ideas for Christmas cards, contact me today because my schedule is filling up!

5. Turn Around Time - Right now my turn around time is pushing the full 2 weeks, possibly more. Keep that in mind when booking your sessions!

6. Outdoor Session Re-Scheduling - Keep in mind the weather is RAPIDLY changing. If the weather is BAD on your scheduled session day / time then we will reschedule. If it's just cold, sorry I need to keep those appointments. The only thing that will constitute a re-schedule is rain and snow actively falling down. But hey, use it to your advantage. Coats, jackets, blankets, scarves, etc. can be awesome layers for family pictures!

7. Any Reschedule - If you cancel or reschedule with in 48 hours of your session and it's not weather related you will be charged a $25 fee (which is what your deposit covers). My time and availability is so critical right now I can't afford to have any cancellations that I don't know about ahead of time.

8. Gift Cards - Hopefully you all know we do gift cards! Gift cards that are expiring in Dec 2015 are not except from the 2 weeks of time off. All gift cards are subject to availability so plan accordingly.

9. Family Time - I know I'll get some grief over this time period of 2 weeks off, but I'm hoping you all sympathize with me and understand my point of view. The last 3 years I've worked Christmas Eve, the day after Christmas and may of the days between holidays to ensure my clients get the pictures they want for the holidays. This year, my focus will be on  my family. As a newlywed, I'm trying my best to work full time, run a full time photography and photo booth business and spend time with my husband. It's quite the juggle.

10. Happy Holidays - I hope everyone can take time out of their busy schedules and fit some much needed {and deserved} family time in this holiday season!
