The Tuesday Ten | Texting Abbreviations and HashTags

Today’s Tuesday Ten Topic was suggested by Rikell Hammer. When I read her suggestion I laughed and thought this would be perfect. Have you ever been reading a text or post on Instagram or Facebook and thought, what does that mean? Ha, I sure have. Here are a few of the most common abbreviations used in texting, and social media as well as some hashtags you might see.

Abbreviations

1.       B/C – Because

2.       BTW – By the Way

3.       IDK – I don’t know

4.       PAW – Parents are watching

5.       PLS or PLZ – Please

6.       TIA – Thanks in Advance

7.       TY – Thank you

8.       SSDD – Same Stuff, Different Day

9.       KWIM – Know what I mean

10.   WAYD – What are you doing

HashTags

1.       #TBT – Throw Back Thursday

2.       #Nofilter – Means no Filter was used on the photo when adding it to Instagram

3.       #MCM – Man Crush Monday

4.       #YOLO – You only live once

5.       #igers – Shorthand for instagrammers or Instagram users

6.       #WCW – Woman Crush Wednesday

7.       #SMH – Shaking my Head

8.       #OOTD – Outfit of the day

9.       #FBF – Flash back Friday

10.   #TT – Transformation Tuesday
